Tripadvisor Solmar Car, I would strongly discourage anyone from using Solmar car rental. I would strongly discourage anyone from using Solmar car rental. The car itself was a brand new Lancia, very clean with a full tank of fuel. A very stressful experience - don't use them. It was very old, no blipper so had to be manually opened, it had bumps & scratches all over & was not very clean. My last report to TripAdvisor was in praise of service received. They are rude, trick you into things that was not in the original contract and give you any car (much smaller) without compensation. I regret that this time it reports on poor quality with frustration thrown in. We used Sol-mar car hire from Alicante recently - it was the worst car we have ever rented (we have a villa in Moraira & visit very frequently).
